Recently, I have been studying the great photographic works of David Hockney. Mr Hockney created amazing works of art with multiple photographs of just one scene. What you see here is my attempt to create a similar style of art. Resting on this old trunk, this old Hohner accordion holds untold memories of music that must have brought joy to many. Was it played at a wedding? Did it sing the sounds of beloved old anthems from someone’s home country? We will never know. I found this beautiful piece sitting by itself in an antique store a while ago. It’s a circa 1930’s instrument…and it was begging to be revived. I hope the echos of the dances that made people smile breathe through the bellows of this accordion very soon.
